The Sangre Observatory was located adjacent to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains from 1987-2001 in south central Colorado. The nearest town, Crestone, is about four miles distant. The observatory was built in 1987. Designed and operated by Neyle Sollee, it has undergone numerous improvements since then.
